Tamia Slams Fabulous’ Claims She Wasn’t On 1st ‘So Into You’ Remake Because She Had Throat Surgery

Singer Tamia is clearing the air!

Rapper Fabolous claimed during an IG Verzuz battle with Jadakiss that Tamia was initially MIA on his remake of her hit “So Into You” because she had throat surgery. Tamia originally came out with the song in 1998. Fabolous then covered it with two versions, the first featuring Ashanti, and then another version featuring Tamia in 2003.  Many fans have wondered for years, how Ashanti ended up on the song. Fab said during the IG Live session that it was because Tamia was getting throat surgery.

He said,

“Tamia is who the original song came from. Tamia was getting surgery on her throat the time when we did the song. So we got Ashanti to do the song. And then while, we did the video, she was back.  She got her sh*t back together.  Ashanti was running all around, because Ashanti was scorchin. Shout out to Irv [Gotti] too. You was suppose to make this happen matterfact. But uhm, Ashanti was all over the place, Ashanti was scorchin, at this time, so she was all over the place, and we couldn’t get a schedule… we couldn’t get the video so, we came back with Tamia… we laid the vocals after her throat surgery and, so that’s why it’s two verses. Tamia version, and then there’s an Ashanti version, both of them did they thing.  And I appreciate both of them on it.”

Following the Instagram live battle, Tamia hopped on Instagram to slam  Fabolous’s claims that, Ashanti’s vocal landed on the track because she was having throat surgery.  She posted a photo summing up her career with the caption,

“25 years. 8 albums. 0 throat surgeries.”
