Erica Mena Responds To Backlash After Announcing Her 2nd Pregnancy With Safaree Samuels: Be Happy You Ugly Soul
Erica Mena is has a message for her haters!
Yesterday (May 3rd), Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels announced that they are expecting their second child, but the pregnant reality star felt the need to address those who are less-than-pleased with the couple’s bundle of joy.

She jumped on her Instagram stories and shared her feelings about those with negative opinions regarding her second child with Safaree Samuels. After announcing that she’s been “having a very peaceful, relaxing time” with her pregnancy, she begins acknowledging her and Safaree Samuels‘ journey. She says:
“There’s been mistakes made, immaturely, but a marriage is a marriage—and unfortunately there’s been mishaps. In any marriage, s**t happens. When you’re in the public eye, I think me and my husband have both realized, you know, that things should be kept in.”
As she continues, she then begins to touch on the negativity that social media users have been sending her way. Erica Mena states:
“We’ve got a blessing here and you guys are really trying to be so negative and nasty about it that it really makes me pray. Like, you guys are [so] mean.”
She continues:
“Nine times out of 10 it’s people who sleep on mattresses that are on the floor that have this full-on [view] of what’s supposed to be right… Half of you guys can’t even keep a man, let alone get married. Vice-versa for the men. How dare you?”
Erica goes on to speculate that those sending her negativity must be the truly unhappy ones. She adds that she will pray for her unnamed haters. She states:
“I’m really gonna take a moment and just pray for these individuals. And I’m not ranting—I’m just bringing it to the attention [because] we really have to pray for people that we don’t even know in this world… [There are] a lot of people suffering, and they feel good about themselves in these blog comments by just talking disgustingly about other individuals.”
Erica then wraps up her discussion on the following note:
“I’m only in one year of marriage—I’m not a pro at this. And like I’ve said, we’ve made some mistakes. But d***! We just announced we’re having another addition. Gosh, be happy you ugly soul. [Be happy] for somebody, if you can’t be happy for yourself.”
Since posting her aforementioned Instagram story, neither Erica nor Safaree have commented on the matter. However, since they both posted pregnancy announcements on their respective pages, it seems like the couple is enjoying the moment and are unbothered by the backlash.
Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels, who are primarily known for their time on Love and Hip Hop: New York, wed back in October 2019. They also welcomed their first child, Safire, in early 2020.
Throughout their union, they have been very public about drama in their household. Earlier this year, Safaree outright claimed that getting married was “1 of [his] BIGGEST mistakes.”

However, it seems as though the couple is in a good place at the moment and excited to welcome their second child together.
