50 Cent Shuts Down Studio Rivalry Speculation w/ Tyler Perry: ‘Cut The Sh*t!’

50 Cent may be at odds with many people, but Tyler Perry isn’t one of them.

Rapper-turned-media mogul 50 Cent, who owns the production company G-Unit Films and Television Inc., recently addressed rumors suggesting a rivalry with Tyler Perry. Despite G-Unit Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, being the second-largest Black-owned production studio after Tyler Perry’s Atlanta studio, 50 Cent emphasized that there is no animosity between the two.

On Monday, June 17, 50 took to Instagram to respond to a headline that stated, “50 Cent Gearing Up To Be A Tyler Perry Rival?” Shutting down all thoughts of possible drama, he said with a clear statement:

“Yes, I’m doing great but you’re getting it f***** up, if you think me and Tyler will be at odds at any point. He’s helping me, already going out of his way to aid my progress. So in the nicest way, cut the s***!”

Earlier this month, during a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Power, 50 Cent opened up about his relationship with Tyler Perry, saying,

“So I talked to Tyler on my way here … Tyler is no joke. He’ll f*** you up if you think he ‘Madea.’ He don’t talk to me like that. I don’t know if he’s tougher when he’s talking to me, but it just feels like I can learn some things from him.”

In addition to expanding his entertainment empire, 50’s new studio is set to make a significant impact on the local community.

Recently, a “three-phase” initiative was unveiled, showcasing 50’s commitment to investing directly into the city and its people. The first phase focuses on revitalizing downtown Shreveport, with plans to buy and renovate about two dozen commercial properties.

The subsequent phases aim to ease the path to homeownership by increasing housing availability and making financing more attainable.
