T-Pain Lowkey Pissy About No Grammy Love, “Whatever!”

Even though T-Pain‘s ‘5 O’clock’ peaked at number 10 on the Billboard charts and got a ton of radio time nationwide, the hit track hasn’t received any Grammy nods. 26 year-old T-Pain, (real name Faheem Rasheed Najm) told Billboard in an interview that he’s lowkey salty he hasn’t received any Grammy recognition for this track that goes against his usual musical grain.
“We made the deadline for this year—I definitely made sure of that. The weird thing was, stat-wise and chart-wise, this is one of the biggest songs I’ve ever made. It’s huge, and the crazy thing is, I have zero Grammy nominations. But when I didn’t have songs of this caliber I was getting four or five a year. That’s the only weird thing about the song that confuses me, but hey, whatever.”
In 2008, T-Pain won a Grammy for Best Rap Song along side Kanye West for the hit single “Good Life” and in 2010 he won for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or a Group for “Blame It” with Jamie Foxx. T-Pain has also been nominated 9 times in his career (between 2008 and 2010) for his work with various artists and solo projects. What do you think? Is ‘5 O’clock’ just not Grammy worthy? Or is it something deeper?
