Cissy Houston’s Letter to Whitney, “The holy spirit told me that you would not be with me long…”

On Saturday, the homegoing service for Whitney Houston took place in Newark, N.J. Tributes and parting words were shared in the live-TV broadcast ceremony that lasted over two hours. And in addition to catching a glimpse of the private Whitney (via words from close friends and family), the public also gets a glimpse of the fallen star from a letter that her mother, Cissy, penned w/in her obituary. In the touching letter to her daughter, Cissy explains that she knew that Whitney would not be “with us long” and that on the day that Whitney had passed, she believed that she (Cissy) had received signs. On Sunday, the private burial for Whitney will take place in New Jersey. She will be buried next to her father at Fairview Cemetery.
