Tyler Perry’s First Annual Rise Above Celebration event took place in Beverly Hills. Hollywood’s top African American actresses and entertainment industry leaders were spotted. Anika Noni Rose, Tessa Thompson, Loretta Devine, Kimberly Elise, Director Tyler Perry, actresses Kerry Washington, Phylicia Rashad, Gayle King and some other folks were present, while Mary J. Blige (and that cat-suit) performed.
