Producer/Engineer Young Guru, Hits Washington, DC + Talks ‘Watch the Throne’
On Saturday, April 30, producer/engineer/DJ Young Guru, along with DC’s Party Kingpen, DJ Quicksilva, dj’ed at Washington, DC’s Cafe Asia. The party, hosted by Urbane Lifestyle & Entertainment Group and Wylie K. & Friends, was held in conjunction with a series leading up to their Annual Miami Takeover event.
The night began with an art+fashion show and transitioned to a party featuring Guru and Quicksilva. I stopped by for the party element. The spot, which serves as an Asian restaurant during the day, was packed. Lots of folks partying, drinking and mingling. Great atmosphere. Music? Besides a few kinks (I arrived during Guru’s set), the party kept rockin’….For party pix, head over to EliteDCMag.
In non-DJ news, Young Guru seems to be heavily involved in Ye and Jay-Z’s, Watch the Throne. He shared with Vibe: “Right now, I’m really trying to get Jay and Kanye to hurry up and finish this Watch The Throne album because the world needs to hear it. It just needs little tweaks and things like that. But the core of the album is finished.” Sweet!
