Jay-Z Promotes Personal Chef + 40/40 Club Temporarily Closed

Jay-Z has promoted his personal chef, Mike Shand, to an Executive Chef for his high-end sports bar, the 40/40 Club, in Manhattan. Jay’s rep explained, “[Jay] knew that Mike would be able to improve upon the current menu in ways that had the Jay-Z seal of approval because many are dishes that he eats himself on a daily basis.” Currently the bar is going through extensive renovations. Jay-Z and his partner Juan Perez explained on the web site “The 40/40 Club would first like to thank you for your business these past 9 years. Without your commitment to the brand, The 40/40 Club would not have achieved the worldwide recognition it has today. Starting June 1st, The 40/40 Club’s New York City Flagship location will undergo a complete transformation from floor to ceiling.”
