Toya Carter’s Husband Arrested for Bringing Gun to Airport

Toya Carter Wright‘s new husband, Mickey “Memphitz” Wright was arrested yesterday (August 22nd) in Atlanta. According to TMZ, Memphitz was on his way to board a flight and put his bag through the X-Ray scanner at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. While going through the scanner, a gun was found in his backpack. He was arrested and taken to a jail near by even though he insisted that he had just forgotten the gun was in his bag and did not purposefully bring it into the airport. He even had a valid license for it, but, nonetheless, gun possession is illegal at airports.

She and her producer hubby just married on June 18th at the Atlanta National Golf Club. Their relationship has been public for a while since he often appears on Toya’s reality TV show “Toya: A Family Affair.” On the show, the two seem to really adore each other. Toya has not been publicly linked to anyone else besides her superstar ex-husband Lil Wayne, with whom she has one child, daughter Regginae Carter.

At this point, Toya has not released any statements, although Monday evening she did express her frustration about bloggers respecting her privacy. She tweeted:
