Holly Robinson Peete Still Confused About Being Kicked Off “The Talk”

On September 2nd, word hit the web, via Holly Robinson Peete’s personal blog, that she had been booted from the daytime talk show “The Talk.” And this was after there had already been weeks of speculation and rumors. However, the speculation is not over, as Holly still has not been given a reason why she terminated after only one season.

Holly explained to E!:

“I’ve been around long enough in this business to know that sometimes you don’t get a reason. You just pick up and keep moving…”

And move on she did. She was spotted at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the L.A. Watts Labor Community Action Committee Center, one of her various charities. The building is reopening after undergoing a $50,000 renovation thanks to the Maxwell House Drops of Good Program. She is also exploring more options and explains:

“I feel like daytime TV is a sweet spot for me. I liked live TV, and I didn’t know I could do it until this year. I’m looking forward to testing out new stuff, maybe some scripted opportunities.”

For now, Holly’s fans can look forward to seeing her in a short role in the upcoming movie 21 Jump Street featuring Johnny DeppJonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Check out the footage from her interview.

I will miss watching you and Leah on the talk. I myself have stopped watching “the talk” It lacks the humor and honestness that it once did have.

Holly Robinson Peete has a great attitude… but I’m still wondering, in this day and age- why are talented folks not soliciting Scripts/Manuscripts and producing Projects for themselves; using their real or fake name as the Producer. Here’s a project: Create something over the net and see if you can create demand. In fact, do things like running local or national contests to increase the interest of one or more projects. Come on- get with the program. Don’t like that, how about this- Submit protected drafts of ideas to cable networks. Have you seen the ideas that are being funded? HRP, you should be so far beyond waiting on bread crumbs. Do you think the host of ‘The Talk’ didn’t know that she would have to create her own luck… (Yeah, having the hubby she has helps) but she knew what to aim for. HRP; AIM HIGHER.
