Introducing Exclusive Photos of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s Bambinos

Friday night, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon released exclusive photos of their twin babies, Moroccan and Monroe. The photos were released in conjunction with their interview on 20/20 with Barbara Walters.

During the Walters special, they discussed everything from their relationship, the complicated pregnancy, and how they want to raise their twins. The couple got hitched in 2008 after only a few weeks of dating. Shortly after, Mariah got pregnant but  had a miscarriage in 2009. As a result, they adapted new methods like fertility treatments and zen lifestyle to help them conceive. The couple said in their interview that during this pregnancy they put a boom box by Mariah’s tummy and she sang some of her songs to them. “They really respond to music,” she noted. However, papa Cannon isn’t so sure that he wants his kids to be raised in the music industry.

“I want to make sure we get education first. Society puts too much on entertainment and entertainers….They praise them like they’re royalty, especially in America, where it should really be about the teachers or, you know, the doctors. I want them to be able to sing as beautifully as their mother. I want them to be able to play instruments and everything. But I want them like…..go get a Ph.D.”

In the interview, Mariah also discussed the difficulty of having to carry twins. “I don’t think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body. Carrying two babies? Unless somebody’s been through it, it’s difficult to understand what I went through.” She was on constant bed rest, and experienced lots of false labor episodes and emergency trips to the hospital, that by the end she needed help to get out of bed and go the the bathroom. By April 30 her doctor was immensely concerned about her well-being and so performed a C section as Mariah’s live version of her hit song “Fantasy” played in the background with Nick DJ’ing. She said they did it so, “they could hear the applause upon entering the world.” Cute! This week they premiered an exclusive site called Dem Babies for baby Roc and Roe with pics and a few words from the parents. Peep part of the interview with Barbara Walter.
