[Audio] Nicki Minaj Calls The Breakfast Club: Doesn’t Want An Apology, Denies Concert Rumors of Putting Lil Kim in Casket
Monday night, Nicki Minaj called into Hot 97 to discuss her decision to pull out of New York’s Summer Jam concert, with radio personality Funk Master Flex. And Tuesday morning, she called into ‘The Breakfast Club’s’ Power 105 to dish more on why she took her stance. Peep a few excerpts below:
On Peter Roseberg’s comments overall:
After all was said in done, I wasn’t going to do ‘Starships” I know what people wanted to see…it was horrible timing, it was in bad taste. You gotta own your mistake..
On Fox Brown’s involvement in her planned show:
Foxy had always been part-of the line-up. I always loved her…She was like ‘Yo Nick, I am riding w/ you, we aren’t leaving this hotel…” Everyone supported the decision.
On rumors that she had a planned funeral scene, referencing her beef with Lil Kim:
Absolutely not. That’s ridiculous. I’m not about to come on my stage and bring death on my stage. We were bigging up each other. Nobody was going to be made relevant by being on my stage.
On thought that she was “using the female card” and if she think she’s treated as a woman:
I am a female. It is what it is. You should think about that, before you attack the only woman on the bill. If you don’t respect that– you don’t understand that, you’re stupid. This is reality. I was the only woman on that bill.
On if she wants Rosenberg to apologize:
No, I don’t want an apology. I don’t care about an apology.
On if she considers herself less of a boss, for allowing Lil Wayne to pull her from the show:
I typically go about things as as a boss. Me having loyaty, that is a boss move. If you don’t have loyalty to your family, you’ll never understand being a boss.
On the rumored free concert that she has planned::
[It is] still in the works. This was actually Wayne’s suggestions. I don’t wanna let my fans down period. I think people know that about me. We gonna make it work. The only reason I didn’t have a NY/NJ show is because of Summer Jam. We’re going to have fun. I’ll have details at a later date.
On the biggest lesson that she’s learned:
This taught me to value myself. I don’t care where you work. I don’t have to show anyone sh*t. I don’t hafta show sh*t. Imma show you by what i don’t DO. You don’t interject that thought into people’s minds.
