Comedian Mike Epps to Play Richard Pryor in Nina Simone

More promising news the Nina Simone biopic, 'Nina'. According the Hollywood Reporter, the film has snagged Mike Epps to play the role of Richard Pryor. Now how involved was Pryor in Simone's life? Apparently Pryor opened some of Simone's shows, in her early days. The film, written and directed by Cynthia Mort, still reportedly has Zoe Saldana playing the lead role, as Nina Simone. And if you recall, her playing this role was controversial–some fans said that the actress did no resemble Simone enough. The film is being financed by the UK's Ealing Studios and begins filming this week in Los Angeles.
