Have Monique And BET Kissed & Made Up? Comedian Reportedly Working On New Show With Network
Mo’Nique has been in some of the most popular television series and blockbuster movies to date including ‘The Parkers,” “Precious,” and “Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins.” The comedian, actress and former talk-show host has also done a lot with the BET network, including having hosted several BET Awards, as well as having the network be the home for her first talk show, “The Mo’Nique Show.” The show ran from 2009-2011, but was unexpectedly canceled due to unknown reasons.
Earlier this year in an interview with Hot 97, she discussed why the ‘The Monique Show’ ended:
Let me say this about the experience, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. We wanted folk to go to bed and feel good. Those two years were amazing. I wish I could give you the answer. I honestly don’t know what happened with the Monique Show. You should maybe ask Ms. Debra Lee because I don’t wanna assume. I can’t give you an swer to that. But what I will say to the people, we thank you. It was a show for our community, baby. It was so diverse; it was for everybody.
Whatever the issue was behind the canceling of Mo’Nique’s talk-show, seems to be old news between her and the network. Rumor has it that the actress is in the development stages of a new show with BET. No one knows what type of show it will be, but from what we hear fans may in fact see Mo’Nique back on TV in the very near future. In other Mo’Nique news, her weight loss journey continues. Daily, she shares her weight loss progress with her fans by tweeting her workouts each day.
You can catch Mo’Nique on UStream every first Monday of each month, as well as see her and hubby Sidney every Tuesday on the same channel.
