Newark Mayor Cory Booker Thinks It’s Wonderful That People Think He’s A Homosexual
Yes, he’s 44. No, he doesn’t have any children. Yes, he’s never been married a single day in his life. But who cares, right? Newark mayor Cory Booker who’s running for New Jersey senator could care less if folk thinks he’s gay. In an interview with the Washington Post, he shared his specific thoughts on speculation that he ‘s gay:
And people who think I’m gay, some part of me thinks it’s wonderful. Because I want to challenge people on their homophobia. I love seeing on Twitter when someone says I’m gay, and I say, ‘So what does it matter if I am? So be it. I hope you are not voting for me because you are making the presumption that I’m straight.’
Initial rumors began about Booker’s sexuality when his spokesperson has declined to comment on it in the past. And earlier this year a 1992 op-ed surfaced from his college newspaper, “The Standard Daily.” In the piece, titled “Pointing the Finger at Gays,” Booker wrote about overcoming his own homophobia.
Meanwhile, we’re told that the DC native did date Oprah Winfrey’s best friend, Gayle King. Anywho, thoughts on Cory’s refusal to share what team he plays for?
