Love Don’t Live Here Anymore: Timbaland’s Wife Files For Divorce After Five Years of Marriage
Being featured as a guest on Jay Z’s Magna Carter World Tour is not the only reason Timbaland is in the headlines. After five years of marriage, his wife, Monique Mosley, is filing for divorce from the super-producer. According to TMZ, Mosley is seeking alimony, life insurance, and funding for private schools, vacations, summer camps, and other expenses. Timbaland and Mosley have a 5-year-old daughter, Reign, from their relationship. In addition, Mosley is also asking for child support for her 10-year-old from a previous relationship, claiming that Timbaland has “publicly and privately proclaimed this child as his own.” Other than child support for both children, Mosley wants the producer, who’s noted to be worth about $80 million, to cover her lawyer fees after borrowing from a friend due to financial difficulties.
Initially, the pair met when Mosley worked as his publicist and popped the question during the baby shower for their daughter in 2007. The couple married in a star studded ceremony in Aruba, one year later. She stated about the relationship,
I knew we were going to be together forever.
Timbaland said about the relationship,
It’s probably hard to be married to me. It’s not easy. I’m a musical genius. I’m weird, I do crazy things, it’s not like the average norm. But I’m a loving guy.
While court proceedings are still in the works, Mosley asks for pending fees, a lump sum, both rehabilitative alimony and permanent alimony. Timbaland has yet to release an official statement.
