Chris Brown, At DC’s Park at 14th, Before Arrest

Not so good news for singer Chris Brown. Early Sunday morning, the 24-year-old was arrested for felony assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel. Here’s what went down. The singer was in D.C. for Howard University’s Homecoming, where he made an appearance at Park at 14th club. According to TMZ, he got into an argument (around 4:30 a.m.) with a man outside the W Hotel on  K Street and allegedly punched him once in the face. Allegedly, the man that he was in the altercation with, never threw a punch and the two did not know each other. Both Chris and his bodyguard were arrested.

So the big question is, what triggered the fight? No official comments has been made by Chris, but the victim tells TMZ he and a friend photo bombed the two women fans who were taking a picture with Chris when he got annoyed for hopping in the photo. He allegedly told the victim who photobombed the photo

I’m not into this gay sh*t.

and then threw a punch. The victim says he would have accepted an apology at the scene, but now he will absolutely press charges and he already has a lawyer. He also says Chris broke his nose and he may need surgery. After news hit about the incident, Chris’ on-again-off-again, girlfriend, Karrueche tweeted:

I hate waking up to bad news…what is wrong with some of y’all? Did y’all parents not love y’all enough? Y’all gotta quit w this negative sh*t 24 fucking 7.

According to the Associated Press, Chris and his bodyguard are being held in police custody until Monday. Police report that the felony charges in the case were based, in part, on the extent of the victim’s injuries. Story developing. P.S. Here’s some quick footage of Chris performing at the DC club before his arrest.

UPDATED Monday 12:05 p.m. EST. At this point, Chris has not yet been released. According to TMZ, there’s some confusion on who threw the first punch in the incident. Initially, the police report said that Chris’ bodyguard threw the first punch that allegedly broke the victim’s nose. It also states that Chris only jumped in the fight afterward. The mix-up of whom hit whom first, may help in Chris’ favor. Story developing.
