[Editor’s note: The event also included an exclusive screening of the new/first episode. In short, I HIGHLY recommend this show. In addition to the stellar writing, for me, the show is relatable on so many levels. There were instances that I wanted to shake some sense into ‘Mary Jane’, while at other times when I took off my judgement hat, I cried on the inside because I and/or one of my girlfriend(s) had experienced this type of internal conflict. If you’ve ever loved the wrong man, been conflicted about who to love or had trouble navigating your career and personal life, I’d suggest giving it a try. This story has yet to be told from a black woman’s perspective. TJB readers have STRONG opinions so I’d be interested to hear what you think after it’s aired and you’ve digested it. P.S. Not that you asked!]
