[EXCLUSIVE] John Salley Talks Canceled BBall Reunion, Evelyn Lozada’s Pregnancy + Calls Tami Roman A Better Reality Star Than Kim Kardashian

Looks like we weren’t the only ones disappointed that Basketball Wives ended without a reunion. John Salley, who hosts the reunion show, was a bit blown about the way things went down. We chatted with the retired NBA baller asking about what he would have asked the cast members (had the reunion show not been axed), Tami Roman’s potential spin-off and why she’s the best on reality TV, his thoughts on Kanye West and more. Check out our conversation below.

Jasmine BRAND: I missed you on the reunion for Basketball Wives we’re you disappointed or it is that part of the game, so to speak? 

It is part of the game and I was really disappointed because when I watch the show I write it after each episode and then I re-watch it about three days before the show, so I have all my notes. I don’t really read anything. I’m really just asking questions as if I am a fan. So I didn’t get to do that this time but I’m happy for Evelyn. That’s my dog. I saw that she is pregnant and smiling, I’m following her on Instagram. Thats my dog so Im just happy for her.

Jasmine BRAND: If you had two burning questions for anyone [for the reunion] that you were dying to ask, what were they? 

I would have been funny about it but I would have said, ‘Did he head butt you with the lower part or the upper part? Like did he do straight up or straight down?’ I would have said something silly like that  and probably got kicked off the show.

I would have asked Tami why she gets upset so quickly, that’s it. But I think, Imma tell you I thought the show was cool but when my girl Tami got on the show, it took it to a different level and I watched her a professional reality television star. If anybody knows what I’m talking about watch Tami. From Real World to now, this chic has been the most entertaining and education(al) I have ever seen in television. Tami Roman.

Jasmine BRAND: Her over Kim Kardashian? 

Yeah, cause Kim Kardashian doesn’t really say anything.It’s her mom and the whole family. But when you deal with exactly the actors or someone who knows exactly how to bring you into their life and how to keep you there, nobody but Tami Roman could do that.

Jasmine BRAND: Would you be interested in seeing her with her own spin off? 

Yes. I wanna see Tami Roman. She and her daughters, that life has to be the most interesting life. Black, white or purple.

Jasmine BRAND: Before I let you go I have a few random questions. Number one. Was President Obama right or wrong for the selfie at the Mandela tribute? 

No matter what president Obama did he was going to be judged or criticized. It was what it was. It wasn’t disrespectful. It was in between somebody speaking..one they wasn’t saying it enough in English and two the [language] signer wasn’t getting it right.

Jasmine BRAND: Yes or no is Kanye West a genius? 

Kanye yes, is the Mozart, I remember they put this in Vanity Fair he is the Mozart, American Mozart. I got a picture of Kanye and I call him the spirit of hip hop.

Jasmine BRAND: Two things that are on your bucket list?

I’ve done everything I wanted to do in my life, the only thing I want on my bucket list or if you ask me if I could wish for something is to see what is like to 139 and to se what it is like to 139 and a half.

What one thing should a man try at least once in his life? 

Jumping out if an airplane. Parachuting.
