UPDATE: Identify of Dwyane Wade’s Baby Mama Released + Child’s Name Revealed

On Monday, fans were shocked to learn that Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade had fathered a son outside of his relationship with fiancee actress Gabrielle Union. To date, little is know about the mother of the child. Reportedly, the son is one month old. Monday before the Heat’s game against Denver, Wade acknowledged that the reports were true, telling the Sun Sentinel:

I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy. So I’m moving on. I’m in the public eye, so obviously that’s a part of it. It comes with the territory.

The 31-year-old added that what matters to him

is always focus on what’s most important to me and my family, and that’s being a great father. I’ve always tried to show my importance in my kids’ lives and it doesn’t change now. So, I, my lady and my family have continued to move forward, and I think that’s evident with the ring and the proposal that I gave her, with our lives.

He confirmed that he has spent time with his new son.

Yeah, I’ve got a chance to see him. You know me. I’m involved in my kids’ lives. When my kids were living at home with me, or wasn’t living at home with me, I tried to do everything I could to see them. Obviously I got custody of them for different reasons, but nothing changes with my life. Like I’ve said, this is something that my family knows and my now fiancee worked through when we got back together, and understood that we wanted to continue our lives together and continue supporting our family and we’re going to do that. That’s what I’ve always done.

Gabrielle has not released an official statement, but wrote on Twitter:

The goal is NOT perfection… The goal is to be whole…That “you complete me” mess is total crap… Work on YOURSELF. Become whole, healthy & happy & watch what happens #LoveAndLight … If u are unhappy/angry/resentful w/ ur life, before u pt the finger & place blame/shame on others… Look at urself. WE control our own destiny … Workin on ME has gotten me MUCH further than obsessing/criticizing/judging other folks. U never lose when u work on yourself

He announced his engagement last week to Gabrielle. The two have been dating since 2009 and are expected to wed in September 2014. The two have been dating since 2009. In addition to his one month old son, he has primary custody of two young sons from his marriage to ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches and is also raising a nephew at his Miami home shared with Gabrielle.

Update 2: Compliments of TMZ, the official birth certificate has been released of D.Wade’s son. He was born Nov. 10, 2013, just 6 weeks before proposing to Gabrielle. Wade’s baby mama is 30-year-old Aja Metoyer. The child’s name is Xavier Zachariah Wade. According to the birth certificate, the child and mother live in Los Angeles. Internally, we’ve done lots of digging and it appears that Aja also has TWO children with actor Damon Wayans Jr. The two went to court last year over one of their children. Story developing.

UPDATE 3: Folk are doing the math and some suggest that D.Wade and Gabrielle weren’t taking a break from their relationship when Xavier was conceived. The child was born in November. That would make Aja pregnant somewhere in between February and March, around the same time that Gabrielle and D.Wade still seemed to be in a relationship. Both were posting photos on social media of each other. Anywho, this is pure speculation. People (including you and I) share what they want the public to know. Story developing.
