Kerry Washington FINALLY Announces Pregnancy At ‘Golden Globes’, Fans React

Finally! Kerry Washington (36) has confirmed what we’ve been speculating about for months, she’s expecting! She broke the worst kept secret ever, Sunday evening, at the 71st Annual, stepping out on the carpet in Balenciaga , holding her bump and smiling for the cameras. She told Ryan Seacrest, while holding her bump:

I have the best date of the night, my little accessory.

Last fall (around October to be exact), we became suspicious when she showed up on the Emmy’s red carpet, glowing and wearing a loosely fit Marchesa (Spring 2014) gown. And our speculation, like most of yours, seems to be correct. Weeks later, buzz continued and Us Weekly reported that the actress and her ex-NFL’er husband Nnamdi Asomugha were expecting. She’s maintained a relatively low public profile, but managed to squeeze in a few appearances like Jimmy Fallon Live!

We became even MORE suspicious when there were reports that Scandal had ordered less episodes because of the secret pregnancy. According to Deadline, there were less episodes than originally planned for ABC’s hit show, cutting the original 22 to 18 episodes. The network wouldn’t give a reason but it was SPECULATED that it was becoming a challenge for the gang to hide Kerry’s bump, since she plays the lead role of ‘Olivia Pope’. Twitter erupted after her Golden Globe debut.
