Two happy and famous families have officially blended, celebrating the upcoming birth of a new Hollywood baby. On Saturday (January 18th) Vanessa Simmons (the daughter of Rev. Run of Run DMC) and boyfriend Mike Wayans (son of Damon Wayans) attended their intimate baby shower for their bundle of joy due in February.

As expected their well-known respective family members were in attendance including Angela Simmons, Rev. Run and his wife Justine, Russell Simmons (Vanessa’s uncle), Damon Wayans, Damon Wayans Jr. and Marlon Wayans. We also spotted close family friend, singer/actor Tyrese. Russell Simmons tweeted his excitement about the shower, tweeting Mike:

Last October, the couple officially announced that they were pregnant, telling US Weekly.

We are both very excited about the birth of our first child. We totally were expecting it to be [a] boy all along but got very surprised when we found out it was indeed a girl. I immediately went out and brought a cute [little] outfit for her right after the appointment.

Vanessa was initially nervous about telling her father who is very spiritual, adding:

I was so nervous telling my dad at first being that I’m not married YET but he was very excited and is supportive 100 percent. His concern is just that I’m happy. Both families are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new baby girl. She’s coming into two huge families waiting to give her lots of love.

Reportedly, Mike and Vanessa have been dating for eight years.
