Cancelled! Oprah Winfrey Calls Off 60th Birthday Bash
It’s a wrap! Or at least for now. Reportedly, Oprah Winfrey has officially called her 60th birthday party off. The media mogul turns 60 today (January 29th) and some celebs had been thrilled that they were a potential guest for the bash. According to E! News, she was slated to have a blowout bash
but the guest list was getting out of control so she decided to cancel
a source tells us. Oprah’s best friend Gayle King spoke with E! News about the gift she had plan for her bestie and shared:
It’s not like Oprah needs anything, but she loves all things, books…and she’s a fan of cashmere. She has everything, but I don’t care who you are, everybody likes a present.
When asked how Oprah would celebrate, she responded
She’s still trying to figure out what’s the best way to celebrate
On Friday, Oprah celebrated with a ton of staff at popular West Hollywood’s Soul Cycle. Check out the clip of her post-workout.
A few reports suggest that she’s celebrating 60 quietly at home, which is total opposite of how she celebrated her 50th.
She aired much of the celebration on her then talk show, Oprah Winfrey. Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder and John Travolta turned up as surprise guests, Jay Leno wheeled out a 400-lb. banana cake and it all went down for a total of two nights at her private California home. Other guests included Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Diane Sawyer, Toni Morrison, Ellen DeGeneres, Salma Hayek, Nancy Reagan, Dr. Phil and Maya Angelou. The actual party included 50 violinists, 200 waiters (that’s one per guest!) and the piece o’ resistance: a circular white-chocolate-and-raspberry-filled pound cake gilded with 23-karat gold by Napa baker Sam Godfrey.
