George Zimmerman Fight Canceled, Promoter Speaks Out: ‘It’s so confusing and controversial.’
Last week, we shared that a celebrity boxing match, starring George Zimmerman was well underway. Spearheaded by Zimmerman, reportedly, he was scheduled to fight rapper DMX. Reportedly, the motivation behind the match was to help charity and support a good cause. Zimmerman explained:
A mutual friend put me in contact with Damon and provided me with an opportunity and motivation to get back in shape and continue with my weight loss goals and also be able to help a charity out.
Since the report, there’s been backlash from some who suggest that the fight is inappropriate and insensitive. What’s the latest?

The fight has officially been called off. Reportedly, the promoter (Damon Feldman) was the one responsible for pulling the chord on the event, noting that his conscience finally kicked in. Saturday afternoon, he wrote that he’d finally realized that there’s more to life than
more to life then money.
After being bombarded on Twitter about his decision he wrote:
Its something that everyone who is mad and hating me are the people that DONT pay my bills , DONT help charities and don’t know me
He added:
