[Interview] Jackie Christie Compares ‘Basketball Wives LA’ Drama to ‘Love & Hip Hop’ Franchise
If there’s one character we’re on the fence with from Basketball Wives LA, it’s Jackie Christie. The real and veteran wife of the show is known to be a handful as she dishes out her dirt and takes all the blows coming her way. This season of the acclaimed reality show, tensions between her and Draya go head to head. As revealed in the teaser and on the first episode; Christie’s daughter Chantel has beef with Draya over stolen boyfriend, Orlando Scandrick and that doesn’t work well with the borderline frenemy status between both co-stars. Our theJasmineBRAND.com correspondent @EmaniFresh caught up with mama Christie as she tells talks twitter fights, BBW new season, and Valentine’s Day.

theJasmineBrand.com: How excited are you about this season?
Oh my gosh, I’m so excited you guys. I have done this now for 3 years, this is my third season. I have never had big butterflies like I have tonight, I don’t know what to expect. I know this season it’s a big turbulent ride, it’s uncut. I brought Sundy Carter on and Brittish Williams and they are amazing. The other girls [side eye] you know they’ll be here and we’ll see what happens with them but tune in because the show is amazing.
Speaking of the other girls we’ve noticed that Malaysia [Pargo] and Draya [Michele] are not here, is there still beef or have you kissed and made up?
Malaysia and Draya are not here because Malaysia and Draya was not invited but it’s not my doing, I don’t care. I’m not the type of person, I don’t hold grudges but they did go in on me on Twitter, calling me all these names and I’m like ‘what’, I would have invited them but I don’t think they wanted to come but we’re here to celebrate, watch the premiere, and have a good time.
What are we looking forward to this season, can you give us a sneak peek, any drama, any juice?
Sneak peek, hell of drama, we’re getting what Basketball Wives Miami, Basketball Wives first season, Love and Hip Hop, everything all wrapped into one. This is going to be the biggest season we’ve had.
One last question, Valentine’s Day was Friday; what did you and Doug do?
Valentine’s Day was Friday and Doug cooked dinner for me naked to Beyonce’s song. We love ‘Rocket’ by the way. But we’ve been married 19 years, we keep it spicy by just having fun and living life, we’re young, we’re vibrant. We try to encourage other couples to keep it sexy and keep it spicy and we had a good time, it was sweet.
