[NEW Details] Paula Patton Demanded Divorce, Robin Thicke Desperate To Save Marriage

Details are slowing emerging on the heels of Robin Thicke and Paula Patton announcing their separation. The couple who have been married for eight years released an official statement to People Magazine explaining,

We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.

The pair, who first met when Thicke was 14, have been married since 2005 and share a three year old son named Julian. According to TMZ, Paula in fact wanted to end the relationship. Reportedly, last week Paula told Robin that she wanted to end the marriage. The soul singer canceled his Atlanta concert, flying to Vancouver where Paula was shooting a movie to save his marriage. TMZ reports:

We’re told Paula and Robin had a long, face-to-face talk … both acknowledging they had not been getting along and frequently arguing.

Our sources say in the end Robin realized Paula was determined to end the marriage and reluctantly agreed, but was very upset. We’re told she was also upset.

Thicke also canceled his North Carolina and Orlando concerts, taking his son to Disneyland. Over the past year, Thicke has been caught in some curious situations involving other women. Rumor has it that Paula was fuming after the infamous 2013 VMA performance with Miley Cyrus.

According to Robin, Paula was aware that Miley and he would get frisky on stage, but we’re told that she was clueless and was embarrassed after watching it play out on live television. After he was caught by photogs grabbing the butt of a blonde female fan and was snapped kissing/dirty dancing with a mystery woman in Paris, Paula allegedly reached her breaking point.

Allegedly, Robin wants desperately to save his marriage. Reportedly, he’s resuming his tour on Thursday where he’s performing in Washington D.C., but he will NOT party afterward, as he typically does. Robin is really concerned about their son, wants to reconcile with Paula and does not their young son raided in two separate homes.
