Inside Essence’s ‘Black Women In Hollywood’: Oprah, Kerry Washington, Lupita Nyong’o & More
It was a celebration of sorts, as Essence Magazine held its 7th annual ‘Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon‘.
As is customary, the annual sworey takes place the week of Oscar’s. This year’s theme was ‘The Power of Our Presence’. Honorees included breakthrough star Lupita Nyong’o, the leadership of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs, and the vision of director/producer Ava DuVernay. Attendees included: Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Tyler Perry, DeVon Franklin, Tischina Arnold, Skylar Diggins, Michael Ealy and a ton of other famous faces.
