Big Sean & Naya Rivera Tried Couples Therapy Before Ending Engagement + Rapper Alleges Actress Threatened To End His Career

Rapper Big Sean made his first public appearance, Thursday (April 10th) after calling off his engagement with actress Naya Rivera. The 26-year-old was all smiles as he arrived at LAX, surrounded by his team.

As previously reported, Big Sean called off his engagement, after five months. His rep confirmed in a statement:

“After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off. The recent rumors and accusations reported by so called or fake sources are simply untrue. Seanwishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately. We will not be commenting again on this matter.”

One day after announcing their break-up, Naya accused her new ex fiance of stealing her Rolex watch. The tweets have since been deleted, but allegedly, she wrote on Twitter:

Meanwhile, Big Sean’s folk paint a different picture. Sources tell TMZ that Big Sean bought himself the watch, when he first became successful in the music industry. He allegedly gave the watch to Naya to wear, not to have.

Reportedly, the couple didn’t break-up from the rapper’s infidelity. Allegedly, Big Sean called the wedding off weeks ago because Naya was too controlling and jealous of women he worked with and met on tour. Naya and Sean first stepped out as a couple just about a year ago and within a few months.

More details about why the couple ended their engagement continues to surface. Reportedly, one of the reasons Big Sean broke-up with Naya was because he was scared off by her violent fits of anger and jealousy. Sources say Naya was a bit of a control freak, wanting to know where the rapper was at all times. TMZ reports that at one point, she threatened him saying:

If you don’t listen to what I say, I’ll ruin your career.

Allegedly, during one argument about Big Sean’s whereabouts, the actress worked herself up so much that she broke an expensive lamp in his home. What’s more? Before ending things, they tried couple’s counseling. Thus far, Naya hasn’t responded publicly about the split, so we haven’t had an opportunity to hear her side of things.
