[Exclusive] Married To Medicine’s Mariah Huq Reveals What Ended Friendship With Quad Webb-Lunceford, Drama With New Cast + Reality TV Pressure

about first season, she did express that to me. She felt like they made her look like my do-girl or my puppet and she felt like she was a little bit subservient and she didn’t like that. Instead of realizing that I didn’t control that, I feel as though she took it out on me…we bumped heads on that. So she started treating me a certain way and I made the comment to her then she said something about…I was mad because she was more famous then me. I said that’s absurd, I’m the one that made you famous and that’s how I felt. I felt like I gave her the platform, I’m not saying that I gave her the personality or anything like that but I just felt like it was absurd to turn the tables on me and treat me like a fan when I’ve always been a friend. I didn’t bring her up under me, I didn’t bring her behind me, I brought her beside me and I think I gotta get some credit for that

Let me first explain this. First and foremost Reco was my high school best friend so Reco and I go way back. So Reco called me for a magazine shoot and I felt a certain kind of way because he called me like Thursday night to do a shoot Friday night and I felt like he was only calling me because he had knew I was already booked. I just felt like we had been so close over the years. In the opening last year to M2M, I had a Reco Chapple dress on, on Watch What Happens Live I wore a Reco Chapple dress, on our commercial it was Reco Chapple so I’ve supported Reco since I was 14 years old, truly supported him as an individual and his business. So when he said he was launching a magazine and wanted me to do the cover , I was honored because not only was I a customer of his but I was one of his ‘bestest’ friend I thought. So he then went to say ‘I’ll just ask somebody else from your group’, he didn’t tell me who. So I said no,  if it’s going to be a cover, I want to do it, I want to represent you, I’ve worn your dresses, I’m your friend, lets do it the next day. He was like ‘Well no, ya know…’ he just made such a big deal out of it. I think he made it about Quad but it was never about Quad. I told Quad, she didn’t do anything wrong in terms of that situation, that was Reco and I and it was completely separate from me and the Quad thing. He just wanted to insert himself into this circle, into this show, and thats how he did it. It is what it is.

No, I don’t think so. They went to college together as well, we all  went to the same school but she’s always told me like ‘Reco full of drama, leave him alone’ she’s never dealt with Reco, you’ll never see a picture with Reco and Quad together until this show. Point blank to the period, exclamation point. Look on my timeline, this time last year all Reco Chapple dress, S/o to Reco Chapple…Our parents grew up together, so our hometown is very upset with the way he’s done me, I just couldn’t believe it I said ‘Damn, people will do anything for fame’.

I’ve reached out to her via text a few times like ‘girl you know I wouldn’t do anything like that or you think that I would really say something like that to Reco?’  Like why would I bring her on to hate on her. I’ve always knew that she would be a star and fan favorite, I always knew that, so to imply anything other than that is absurd. Ive reached out to her we sat down, we talked for 6 hours, we cried, we hugged, we walked away…the next thing I know is that she was on TV doing all of this. So she told me what her issues were, I told her what my issues were, we said we would not take our issues to TV and the next thing I know, she was on TV dealing with it so it kinda threw me back.

You have to watch the show because a lot of it, you’ll understand. You may understand her perspective but I think you’ll understand mine a lot better because it went from 0 to 10,000. I’m like damn , does she think I flat her tires because this just doesn’t make sense, it has to be something else, like is this being produced, like I don’t know because it gets crazy.

She was fun, yeah that was my girl. I miss her, wholeheartedly, but, I think sometimes things happen for a reason and God reveal people to you and when they show you who they are, you gotta believe them.

 Because I brought the ladies together, I was the mastermind behind this, and its just to kinda send a statement. I have to let people know my role in this because if I don’t, nobody will.

I think M2M is different first because of our medical moments, getting to see the doctors in their element whether its delivering a baby or working on a abscess, ya know what I mean,  so I think that’s the first thing that sets us apart. I think the next thing, and this is what I really strive for, is to show minority families. I don’t have nothing against it, its apart of my story but not just baby mamas or bf’s, gf’s I mean to really show beautiful black families, or minority families or any family but just young, successful families and I think that M2M really encompasses that.

Absolutely. Oh Gosh, absolutely, because you’re damned if you do, and you’re damned if you don’t. It’s a lot of pressure because if you don’t have drama nobody watches but when you have it they say well your successful women, your no different than Basketball Wives. So either way you turn, its not good enough.

We talked for a few hours at her restaurant and she basically let me know what to expect this season and she was right on the money with a lot of stuff. She just said when your on the top and in a position of power, expect everybody to come for that position and never underestimate these people, you don’t know the lengths they’ll go to bring you don’t even if its create stories or lies, they’ll do anything. This is one thing she and I discussed , its so far unveiling itself its true;  It’s always the people you help the most that hurt you the most.

A little bit. I don’t want to downgrade anybody but you gotta think, nobody was accepting Quad when she came in. They called her a pet project, a do-girl, a puppet, a drug-dealers girlfriend, all these things and I said , ‘No, this is my Quad’.  Shes Young, but she’s coming in, she’s a newlywed, meaning she has to learn the ropes and she just relocated to Atlanta and she needed to learn Atlanta and the circles and how it is but I’ve always been clear that that’s my girl and we came from similar background, not the same background but similar, so I’ve always brought her in here (raises hand high)
