As you may have heard, things aren’t going so great in the family department of 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson). Last week, a number of sites reported that 50 was M.I.A. (missing in action) at his 17-year-old son, Marquis’ high school graduation. 50 defended himself on BET’s 106 & Park, stating that he was unaware and not invited to the monumental occasion.

If you’ve followed 50’s personal career, you’re aware that for years there’s been tension between 50 and Marquise’s mother, Shaniqua Tompkins. In fact, Shaniqua had a short-lived reality TV career on TLC’s Starter Wives Confidential. The show was cancelled after only a few episodes, compliments of 50. Not to mention the fact that the trio (50, Marquis and Shaniqua) have argued amongst each other on social media.

He can make his own damn schedule to block out that one day. There’s no reason. A father would want the best for his child especially when he is able to give him a better life than he had growing up. The father should be the first male role model a son should have. For the father to publicly disrespect his child’s mother that shows you have no respect for women and your son will have no respect for the father after he sees how you treat his mother. Be blessed.
