[INTERVIEW] L.A. Hair’s China Upshaw Says She’s Being Portrayed As A Crazy Person + On Set Fights, Vivica Fox & Tension With Cast Mates

theJasmineBRAND: What has been one of the hardest things for you to watch?

China: This last episode, because I was trying not to cry and I said that I’m trying not to cry and that I’m imagining myself at DisneyLand with the tall man, but all I said was ‘I’m at Disney Land with the Tall Man’ , so it sounded looney and crazy ya know.

theJasmineBRAND: It’s no secret that you and Angela [Stevens] are not the best of friends, what do you think the real issue is?

China: Reality TV, because me and her were cool until the cameras started rolling. The first day I came in, she acted like she didn’t know me and there it went.

thejasmineBRAND: So do you think that it was played-up for the cameras or that it was just a falling out? 

China: If that’s what she wanted to do but I signed up for a reality show so it was real for me.

theJasmineBRAND: Now, we’ve seen a lot of physical fights on the show this year more than any other season, why do you think that’s happened?

China: Well, I think we all are getting to that point were we’ve reached our breaking point. We’re just tired of talking and now its action and now we have a new cast member whose patience is shorter than a lot of ours.

theJasmineBRAND: Now last year, you and Vivica [Fox] had a little tit for tat and it was mentioned in this season. How are you guys now? Have you seen her since then?

China: I have not.

thejasmineBRAND: If you did have a chance to have a conversation with Vivica is there something that you would say and would you still do her hair again?

Heyy boo! Sure, I would.

theJasmineBRAND: Talk to us a little bit about your new look, we love the platinum blonde?!

China: Well you know I’m lazy with the color now so I’m trying to grow it out a little bit so I’m going to rock the ombre for a while.

theJasmineBRAND: How is it having your sister at work?

China: It was amazing, while it lasted.

theJasmineBRAND: If you had to ask God one question, what would you ask him?

China: When is my husband going to arrive?

thejasmineBRAND: Speaking of husbands, what’s one of the biggest lessons that you’ve learned from one of your ex’s?

China: Believe people when they show you who they are the first time. When they show you who they are, don’t sit around and think oh maybe they can work on it, blah, blah, blah. Take them as they are because they probably wont change. If you’re sitting around expecting them to change and then they don’t, you’ve played yourself.

theJasmineBRAND: What’s one of the biggest mistakes that you’ve made in one of the relationships that you’ve been in?

Starting to like him too much, getting scared, sabotaging it and then running. Pick a fight and then run.
