ESPN Suspends Stephen A. Smith, After ‘Domestic Violence’ Remarks

I respectfully disagree with you Mika. While I feel as if ‘provoke’ was the wrong word and it angered people because there are so many instances of unprovoked domestic violence and irrational occurances of the act from men, I believe it was his intention on telling women to be responsible if they fall into the category of being abusive to the men in the relationship. The man should still not hit back but if a woman cares about her safety why would she put herself in harms way potentally. Again, this is a conditional statement because it purely depends on circumstance. I hope that both genders take this issue more seriously. Women need to learn to leave and men need to be punished.

i normally not reply but this is a very controversial subject. I am a black woman with 2 boys and one daughter so I am by no means saying its ever ok for men to hit, push shove women. However I have witnessed first hand women provoking men by hitting, pushing, slapping and even banging men. When the man attempts to walk away the women will go after them to continue. So in my opinion he has the right to hit her back. Not to necessarily hurt her but to stop her. There are women out there that think its ok to hit men and no consequences will come of it.
