[INTERVIEW] DJ Mustard Talks Over Saturation of DJs, Staying Competitive + Most Annoying Part of His Job
DJ Mustard: You gotta keep ya ear to the street. You can’t get away from that, you can’t lose ya roots, can’t do none of that, so I just keep my ears to the streets. I stay humble about what I do and it works.
theJasmineBRAND.com: What would you say is one of the most annoying things about your job?
DJ Mustard: I’m DJing and somebody comes trying to talk to me and shit…I’m like, ‘yo, Im DJing.’
theJasmineBRAND.com: Even its a request for a song?
DJ Mustard: Why are you requesting songs in the club? Drink ya bottles, get drunk, have fun, don’t f-ck wit me while I’m DJing.
theJasmineBRAND.com: If you had to pick one song to be the soundtrack of your life, what song would that be?
DJ Mustard: Even though I’m from South Central, it’d have to be “Summertime in the LBC”…thats one of my favorite songs.
