[INTERVIEW] Rapper Diamond Reacts to Momma Dee’s Criticism + Moving On From Soulja Boy
Rapper turned reality TV, Diamond (real name Brittany Nicole Carpentero), has never held back when sharing about her life and career. The 26-year old made a name for herself a decade ago when her then group, Crime Mob, first debuted. And while music has been her focus, her public romances with fellow rappers, Lil’ Scrappy and Soulja Boy have at times overshadowed her talent.
During a recent interview with theJasmineBRAND.com correspondent @SmithWorldWide, we chatted with her about Momma Dee’s criticism, how she feels about her ex (Soulja Boy) doing reality TV (Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood) and her experience thus far on Sisters of Hip Hop. Check out the conversation below.
theJasmineBRAND.com: How’s that experience been going? Have you been receiving more positivity or negativity from that role?
Diamond: You get a mixture of both. But I’ve been doing this for 10 years so you know that when you’re in this industry you gotta take the good with the bad. Each week you get a chance to get to learn something about one of the artists. You get a chance to see our family, you get a chance to see us interact with each other. For me you get a chance to see that I’m goofy, you get a chance to see what makes me tick. You get a chance to see the sacrifices that I’ve made and allow me to kind of tell my side of the story to some things.
theJasmineBRAND.com: Momma Dee has had some not so nice things to say. What would say the real issue is?
Diamond: Maybe she’s probably bitter. My thing is I didn’t even really want to keep talking about
