[VIDEO] Keyshia Cole Sent Remy Ma Thousands of Dollars While In Jail
There’s an old saying — Want to know who your friends are? Get in trouble. Rapper Remy Ma (real name Reminisce Smith) knows firsthand what it’s like to be in trouble, as she spent over six years in prison for assault, illegal weapon possession and attempted coercion.
During a recent interview on the Wendy Williams Show, the Grammy-nominated artist shared that while her husband Papoose was 100% supportive, other industry friends helped her maintain a positive outlook.
Remy explained that singer Keyshia Cole, actually sent her and her family money while she was locked up:
Keyshia Cole…you know she gave me thousands and thousands of dollars like ‘This is for your son…This is for your lawyer.’ And that to me meant more than just coming to visit.
She also explained that 50 Cent also sent numerous letters in support of Remy’s early release. When speaking about her marriage (a month before her wedding, she went to jail) she said,
