(EXCLUSIVE) Jimi Hendrix Estate Says Rock Legend’s Legacy is Being Tarnished, Demands Court Order Injunction
The lawsuit explains in July 2014, Tom Zotos — the owner of Zabellentertainment.com – began promoting Jimi Hendrix products on his website.
He even listed on the site that his client was “The Estate of Jimi Hendrix”, which the estate says was clearly done to trick fans into thinking they backed what they consider his infringing products.
The estate said Zotos claimed that he was authorized to sell the items due to permission that Jimi’s father granted Leon Hendrix in the 80’s, but the estate says those rights were terminated long ago. They are demanding an injunction against the website from continuing to sell the items along with punitive and exemplary damages for the infringement of Jimi’s likeness and name.
