(EXCLUSIVE) R.Kelly Hit With $2.9 Million Judgement Over Mansion

According to the court docs, the singer took out a $3.5 million loan to purchase the acres of land, but years later the housing crash caused the value to drop in millions. Reportedly, Kelly attempted to sell the home for $1.59 million in early 2011 but was unsuccessful — then months later was hit with the foreclosure lawsuit by the bank. The home was sold back to the bank in a foreclosure auction for only $950K.

However, Kelly was still financially responsible for the amount he owed on the $3.5 million loan. The legal battle has been going on for years. Then on November 13th, docs were filed in Cook County Court which show Kelly was hit with a $2,922,202.99 judgement in the lawsuit and was ordered to pay the bank the full amount owed plus interest.

The judgement is just another financial issue the singer is facing, with him owing millions for both state and federal back taxes.
