Then on October 29th, Simmons fired back at the photographers allegations claiming Djerrahian had no case against him. In the court docs, Simmons reportedly says that the photos were not registered for a copyright when he posted them. Simmons explains that 2 years after the articles featuring the Rick Ross image is when he obtained a copyright, meaning he cannot sue him for damages because he did nothing wrong by putting them on Global Grind. Simmons demanded the entire lawsuit be dismissed and the photographer be awarded NOTHING from the lawsuit.
Them on December 15th, despite Simmons claim he did not illegally use any of the photographers work, docs were filed in the case stating that both parties had reached a confidential settlement in the case. They state that all claims are being dismissed against Simmons and Global Grind and that each party will pay their own legal bills. The case was dismissed the same day. See the exclusive court docs.
