(EXCLUSIVE) Frank Ocean’s Dad Returns to Court, Fights Russell Simmons in $142 Million Lawsuit
Then on November 5th, the federal court judge came back and dismissed the entire lawsuit and awarded Cooksey nothing from the $142 million he demanded. The judge noted in the order that Frank’s dad did not provide any proof that the case should be heard in New York court and he provided no information about Simmons home, due to a lawsuit having to be filed in the state where the allegations took place.
Cooksey then reportedly headed back to court last month and demanded the court bring back the case and throw out the order dismissing the case. He states that the judge abused it’s discretion and ruled in error when ordering the $142 million legal battle to be thrown out. He states that Russell Simmons and his company are both based in NY and therefore the judge didn’t have any right to say he filed his legal battle in the wrong state. Frank Ocean’s dad is demanding the court schedule a hearing to fix this and allow him to continue on with his battle against Simmons and his website. See the exclusive court docs.
