On Friday, President Barack Obama hosted a private screening of the movie at the White House’s family theater. This comes a day after some feel the cast was ignored in every acting and directing category by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the annual Oscar nominations. Those attending the screening included David Oyelowo and Ava DuVernay (pictured), Carmen Ejogo, Oprah Winfrey, Tim Roth, and U.S. Representative John Lewis.
