Sorority Sisters’ April McRae Tight Lipped About AKA Suspension, Respects VH1’s Decision to End the Show

I really don’t need to speak on that. That’s personal information. That’s communication between my sorority and I.

April also states that she found out this week that VH1 was airing the three remaining episodes this Friday. She maintains that she isn’t upset with the network.

They communicated well with us. I respect their decision. They know what’s best.

April says she anticipated some backlash but was shocked by the death threats.

Everyone was surprised by that. VH1 has done a good job protecting us and ensuring our lives are not in danger.

She adds that her motives were the show, had nothing to do with her being in a Greek letter organization:

My intention was not to do anything wrong. It was to represent myself as an individual and live my life according to standards I set myself.

She adds:

People are entitled to feel how they feel. That’s all I can say. Opinions are not my reality…We have to be able to move forward and walk in forgiveness…You have to forgive people but that doesn’t mean you condone their behavior.

Despite verbal spats on camera, she says that she’s formed friendships with her cast:

I have a great friendship with these women. We’re encouraging each other. We pray together. I think it’s been a great situation getting to know these ladies.

And her and Adrene are in a better space:

We’re in a neutral place. We locked hands and prayed together.

“Sorority Sisters,” final three season one episodes 9:10 p.m. to 12:10 a.m., Friday, VH1.
