(EXCLUSIVE) En Vogue singer Maxine Jones Soon to Be Homeless, Bankruptcy Judge Green Lights Foreclosure Sale
On December 22nd, the bank which holds the hold to her Virginia home, filed docs in the case. They explain that Jones took out a $215k loan with them back in 2006 to purchase her Palmyra, Virgina property.
They claim that Jones owes a total of $208,025.13 on the note and it continues to grow with interest. The bank says that the singer was to continue making her mortgage payments on the note even after she filed for bankruptcy, in the amount of $2,052 a month. They accuse Jones of missing 2 payments for October and November.
The bank said it is now in default on her mortgage and they demanded the court allow them to foreclose on the property due to her non-payments stating the home is only worth an estimated 158k at this time.
Then on January 13th, the federal court judge came back with their decision and granted the bank’s motion to terminate the stay in the bankruptcy and ordered they can begin the foreclosure proceedings on Maxine’s home. See the exclusive court docs.
