Priyanka Banks Disappointed Delta Expelled Her Over ‘Sorority Sisters’: I found out on the internet!

The domino effect. We have sorors — Deltas — who were making death threats against us. That was common knowledge. So if you know we were getting death threats, why wouldn’t you punish those who were doing that to us? Why wouldn’t you investigate that?

If she’s alluding to the fact that those who threatened her should be expelled:

Exactly. I never told anybody that I would kill them. They were the ones acting like we were in a cult or a gang. Calling us sluts and whores. They threw the book at us, because everybody didn’t like us. They talk about a code of conduct, but you can’t pick and choose when you use the code of conduct.

On how she got on the show:

A casting director Facebooked me and she was Greek. People are trying to throw VH1 under the bus, but a Greek woman cast me. I went in for a green screen to test my personality and they cast me.

On how the show was pitched:

The pitched me that they wanted to see us doing community service.

If VH1 showed them doing  community service:

Yes, they did. They also showed us going to church and working together. That is real. But people can’t get past the catty arguments and try to act like it doesn’t happen in real life. That is the problem we had. I didn’t always get along with my line sisters, but at the end of the day, we did our community service. If the first episode was all community service, nobody would have watched it.

If she was casted as a specific type:

I was cast as an edgy girl. I grew my hair back out and they told me to shave it. They cast everybody for a reason. The Caucasian girl? There is no secret why she was cast. I was the outspoken one.

On why she pledged Delta:

I attended Alabama State University. I did my research when I got there and saw them around campus. When you first see sororities, they look good from the outside. They had a program called Sister-to-Sister, where they adopted a freshman. So, as a freshman, a Delta mentored me and told me how to guided me through that year. They were doing good things, so that is what attracted me.

If the experience was worth it:

Honestly, it was worth everything. Before this show came out, I had never seen so much hatred. This showed me something about people. At the end of the day, you can’t take away my experiences as a Delta. Or what I know as a Delta. This piece of paper means nothing to me. You make those letters. They don’t make you. I am going to keep my paraphernalia. Once a Delta, always a Delta. People are going to always know Priyanka is a Delta.

As a greek myself, I do believe the punishment was too harsh. I think the public scrunity of this whole matter drove the decision more than the actual acts of these ladies. A suspension for a while ok, but to expel them is over board and frankly to me is going against everything we stand for, and it is suppose to be a process….what happened to that….this is just a mess all around. From the ladies being on the show from the reaction of the organzation heads. But if it had not been this group of ladies it would have been others, and i bet money they could go out and find another set right now.

they were expelled from delta sigma theta sorority. I feel bad for the ladies. What was shown on tv is a black woman trying to live up to the sorority she represent. Personally i hope she sues she because expulsion is a bit much. i can understand suspension for a while. to take away that woman’s right to represent an organization she paid to be apart of bc the media represented her and some other member as ghetto and distasteful if that is the case she should have never been admitted into the organization ever. You are expelling someone for being who they are on camera. I mean come on now!

Reality TV made its debut in the early 90s.. It has become mainly whats on TV has taken out dramas, sitcoms etc. People want to see people like themselves going thru issues etc.. I feel like these ladies should of been able to tell THEIR story! how do u judge someone for their story? all the greeks who didn’t even watch it and boycotted it baffles me.. I was hesitant at first but gave it a shot and i actually enjoyed watching their story. All these women are successful in their own right and deserve the chance to show that there are educated successful women of color (color means white black red etc) in this world, opposed the flav of love love and hip hop basketball wives. This show finally represented black women in a way better light then ANY of those VH1 shows. Yet fellow greek denied them the chance to tell their story the good bad happy n sad.. i salute you women for opening up and sharing their story.. sometimes it takes you to see ur self on tv acting a fool to realize i should/could need to change..
