Beyonce Covers Mahalia Jackson’s ‘Take My Hand, Precious Lord’, Amidst Ledisi Controversy [VIDEO]
Undoubtedly, Beyoncé continues to prove why she’s one of the greatest entertainers of all time. With over 15 million albums and 118 million records sold internationally, Queen Bee shows why she reigns supreme. Sunday night at the 57th annual Grammy Awards, the 20-time Grammy-award winner captivated the audience with a soulful rendition of ‘Take My Hand Precious Lord’.
The song is a Mahalia Jackson original that is featured on the Selma soundtrack. Wearing a white angelic, sheer dress surrounded by male dancers in white suits, Beyoncé sung her heart out in an introductory performance for John Legend and Common.

Beyonce’s performance on the show, was surrounded by controversy. Reportedly, Ledisi sang this particular song in the film Selma (and played Mahalia Jackson) and was scheduled to perform it on the Grammys.
