Kanye West, Kim Kardashian Make Time’s ‘100 Most Influential People in the World’ List + Liya Kebede Snags Vogue Paris Cover
a decade ago, Kanye issued what amounted to a social critique and a call to arms (with a beat): “We rappers is role models: we rap, we don’t think.” But Kanye does think. Constantly. About everything. And he wants everybody else to do the same: to engage, question, push boundaries. Now that he’s a pop-culture juggernaut, he has the platform to achieve just that. He’s not afraid of being judged or ridiculed in the process. Kanye’s been playing the long game all along, and we’re only just beginning to see why.
Others include Misty Copeland (ballerina), Bradley Cooper, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Watson and others. Click here for the full list.
And in other cover snagging news, Liya Kebede is covering Vogue Paris! Reportedly, this is the first woman of color to appear on the magazine’s cover in half a decade. This isn’t the Ethiopian-bred super model’s first cover. In fact, the last time she covered this particular mag was in 2002. Neither newbies Joan Smalls nor Jordan Dunn have ever covered Vogue Paris. Congrats Liya!
