(EXCLUSIVE) DMX – Judge Orders $61K Music Royalties to Be Paid to Ex-Wife for Child Support
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, DMX (real name Earl Simmons) won’t be receiving any music royalty checks anytime soon — because a New York judge ordered his ex-wife to be paid over $61K from his record label to cover his child support.
Last year, a company named Amusing Diversions filed suit against DMX’s label Universal Music in an attempt to get the label to hand over money made from his royalties to pay off a $242K judgment they won against the rapper. The company said they had been attempting to get paid for years.
Universal Music explained in court documents they had been served with child support withholding orders from his ex-wife Tashera. The music label said she was to be paid $15K a month as part of their divorce. Also, she was owed $140K in back support from the rapper. They said that was Tashera was a priority, via the order.
