Sandra Bland Laid to Rest
Sandra Bland, the 28-year-old woman who was found dead in her Texas jail cell, has been laid to rest in Lisle, Illinois. On July 10th, according to authorities, she was pulled over and later arrested for not signaling to change lanes and being combative with a state trooper in the Texas’ Waller County. Bland, a Illinois native, had recently relocated to Texas preparing to start a new job at her alma matter, Prairie Valley A&M University. Bland was mysteriously discovered hanging from a noose, made of a plastic trash bag, in her jail cell just three short days after her arrest.
