Tracy Morgan Lands New Comedy + ‘Empire’ Renewed For Season 3
Tracy Morgan is returning to TV. Over the weekend, at the TCA’s it was announced that the comedian/actor will develop and star in a half-hour comedy pilot written by Jordan Peele and John Carcieri. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show
centers on a career criminal who is released from prison after 15 long years, hoping to reintegrate into a society that long ago left him behind. Now a man whose only expertise is making grilled cheese with an iron must navigate a modern world of political correctness, internet and self-driving cars.
Morgan, Peele and Carcieri will serve as executive producers on the untitled pilot, which is tentatively set to begin production in the summer.
Congrats to the cast and crew of Empire. The hit Fox series will return for a 3rd season. Lee Daniels confirmed the news on Instagram.
