Mariah Carey Jokes Her Engagement Ring Is “So Heavy I Can’t Lift My Arm”

Mariah Carey is newly engaged and as expected, she’s thrilled! As previously reported, the singer’s boyfriend, billionaire James Packer recently popped the question. In a recent interview E! News, Carey stated:

I’m feeling fantastic, better than ever.

While she didn’t go into detail about how the proposal took place, she did say that it was

very romantic. He’s an exceptional person and really…it gets more romantic by the day, so it’s very sweet.

Carey also joked that she’s very pleased about her jaw-dropping 35-carat diamond ring smiling,

It’s so heavy I can’t lift my arm up! No…It’s a nice chunk.

As for when they plan to jump the broom, she shared,

If everything works out, it will be somewhat soon.

She laughed,

I don’t mean if everything works out in that way, I mean there’s a lot that goes into it.

This will be Carey’s third time walking down the aisle. And she has no plans to have an extravagant ceremony. She reveals,

we are not doing a big wedding because he did two big weddings, and it’s kind of like, ‘I’ve done a big wedding [too]’… We would rather make it beautiful but humble.
