(EXCLUSIVE) Toni Braxton’s Tax Debt Cleared With Uncle Sam
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Toni Braxton can breathe a sigh of relief due to Uncle Sam releasing a $400k Federal Tax Lien against the singer, with the IRS explaining the money she owed being handled and they are no longer on the hunt for her property and assets to collect on their debt.
According to docs filed last month in Georgia, Uncle Sam filed a release of federal tax lien against Braxton and her ex-husband Keri Lewis. The court documents explain that the singer owed a total of $396,330.26 in unpaid taxes for the years 2007 & 2008.
The release of the lien is the latest in the string of positive news for the singer , with her 2nd bankruptcy case finally closing last year. She also settled beef with her ex-husband last year too.
Back in 2014, Braxton slapped her ex-husband, Keri Lewis, with a contempt lawsuit accusing him of failing to pay court ordered child support for their 2 kids – Denim Cole Braxton-Lewis and Diezel Ky Braxton-Lewis.
Braxton & Lewis married back in 1998 and they decided to separate in July 2013 after 12 years of marriage.
The singer accused her baby daddy of screwing her out of monthly child support payments and she wanted the court to order him to pay up for the back support money.
According to Braxton’s bankruptcy documents, she is to receive 2k a month from Lewis for support for the 2 children they share together.
Then last year, Braxton headed to court and voluntarily dismissed the case which would make it appear that two worked out their issues outside of court.
